    The “New Materials Research Laboratory” was established.

    The “Powder Metallurgy Research Center” was established

  • Jan. 1982

    The “Powder Metallurgy Teaching and Research Division” of the Department of Materials Science was merged into the “Powder Metallurgy Research Institute”.

  • Jul. 29. 1985

    The “Central South Institute of Mining and Metallurgy” was renamed “Central South University of Technology”.

  • Jun. 16. 1989

    The “State Key Laboratory of Powder Metallurgy” was set up.

  • Jan. 10. 1994

    “National Engineering Research Center of Powder Metallurgy” was set up.

  • Jan. 25. 2002

    The “Powder Metallurgy Research Institute” was established.

  • Mar. 28. 2005

    Academician Huang Boyun was awarded the First Class Prize of the National Technology Invention Award and was personally presented the award by the President Hu jintao, filling the gap left by the absence of the award for six consecutive years.
